Bangalore Dioceses Churches - Karnataka
In the year 1943, His Holiness Baselios Geevarghese II granted permission for celebrating Holy Qurbana once-a-month at St. Paul’s Church at Shivajinagar. Rev Fr M P Mathews Modisseril started the Service. Later, Holy Qurbana was celebrated at the St. Mark’s Cathedral and the Holy Trinity Church intermittently by visiting priests. His Grace Alexios Mar Theodosios, the Metropolitan in-charge of outside Kerala region appointed Rev Fr Dr V C Samuel as the first vicar on 18th May 1950 and regular services continued thereafter under dedicated priests. They worked selflessly to enable the devout Orthodox community to fan out from the Holy Trinity Church as independent parishes to various parts of the Bangalore region. By the Grace of our God; the intercession of the saints; the prayers, love and sacrifice of our bishops, priests, lay leaders and the worshipping community, presently there are 15 parishes.
